About Us
Our aim as a Christian community is to be here for everyone, whether you’re used to church or know nothing about it at all!
East Dean Church (St Simon & St Jude's) as “a living community of faith at the heart of the village” seeks to cater for people of all ages and backgrounds. We especially welcome families, children, people with disabilities and also anyone who for whatever reason has never been to church.
Our second centre of worship is Friston Church (St Mary the Virgin), “a house of prayer, set high on a hill.” Friston is a beacon of worship for the much-loved rhythm of the 1662 Prayer Book, brought to life by a warm congregation in a wonderfully contemplative and striking setting.
Our third congregation is at Jevington church (St Andrew's) – a church with a message of hope for today in a setting of timeless beauty. Jevington offers both contemporary and traditional language services.
All of us have lives which ebb and flow through times of happiness and sadness, ease and difficulty. Even as we muddle through, we are aware that underneath there are key questions about who we want to become as people, and the way we view our lives. For Christians, the key to these questions is in Jesus Christ, whose authority, presence and message can bring hope, purpose and meaning for everyone.
Church is the people, not the building and on these pages you will find information about our services, what’s happening for families and children, what we are doing to serve our community and much more.
We’d love you to join us and experience the up-lifting worship, encouraging messages, friendly people and enjoyable atmosphere that we hope you will find.
